"More Than A Woman gave us the idea to look at recording a few more classic songs - Artists are traditionally nervous of recording other peoples hits, but as someone recently told us, UB40 recorded their Labour Of Love years ago and it contained all the songs that made them want to be in a band - It was a real Labour Of Love for them. So, we came to the conclusion that it would be a great thing to do, to record some of the songs our parents brought us up on - if you like, some very early 911 influences.

We sat around the table, each with lists as long as your arm - Between the three of us we came up with at least 50 songs we really wanted to record and gradually for various reasons we eventually got it down to eleven - So, There It Is!"

There It Is. Released 25 January.

Talk about 'yer diggable digits': British pop phenoms 911 ("nine one one") will soon be a fixture on radio dials here in the U.S. Sporting a distinctive blend of vocal talent and roguish charm, the three young lads in 911 have rocketed to #10 on the UK charts with their first Virgin single, "Don't Make Me Wait," amidst growing hysteria throughout Britain.

The rabid fan response has earned the members of 911 numerous nationally broadcast UK television appearances, while their UK fan club has grown to over 25,000 members. The trio's tours have caused havoc as screaming fans even try to pull band members Lee, Spike and Jimmy into the audience. Now the boys embark on a worldwide campaign.

Meet 911:

23-year-old Jimmy Constable, an admitted hopeless romantic, who grew up wanting to play soccer for his hometown Liverpool team before surrendering to his love of music.

Simon "Spike" Dawbarn, a mischievous 22-year-old soccer fanatic from the Manchester area, who has a passion for french fries, beans, pizza, and television comedy.

Lee Brennan, who met Jimmy and Spike at a roadshow, convinced them to let him join the band, and 911 was born. In his spare time, this 21-year-old from Carlisle likes to "read fan mail, write lyrics and try to remember what you're meant to do on a day off."

911's youthful exuberance and talent has already propelled them to huge success in their UK homeland. The first U.S. single "Love Sensation" is the featured song in the movie "Casper 2 -- A Spirited Beginning." The group will release its debut full-length album in 1998. Until then, "Love Sensation" provides the perfect introduction to Britain's newest pop export. So keep the number handy!
